What can I expect out of this qualification?

Graduates will have appropriate practical engineering skills for their specialisation and be able to apply those skills. They will possess knowledge of science, mathematics and engineering appropriate to a professional engineer, and be able to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional and technical context, using appropriate media, with their colleagues and clients. They will also be able to systematically and creatively design systems that provide appropriate practical solutions to engineering problems, as well as able to define needs and source appropriate data to service those needs.

Minimum requirements

A New Zealand University Entrance qualification or equivalent. Civil, Mechanical, Mechatronics and Electronical and Electronic Engineering programmes require in addition to University Entrance a minimum of 16 credits in NCEA level 3 Calculus and at least 14 credits in NCEA level 3 Physics. Material and Process, Environmental, Chemical and Biological, Chemical and Process Engineering programmes require in addition to University Entrance a minimum of 16 credits in NCEA level 3 Calculus and at least 14 credits in NCEA level 3 Chemistry or at least 14 credits in NCEA level 3 Physics. Software Engineering requires in addition to University Entrance a minimum of 16 credits in NCEA level 3 Calculus.
