About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is intended for those who wish to contribute to Māori educational organisations and other organisations as leaders with a strong
kaupapa based teaching philosophy. They will be able to combine advanced research skills and knowledge to lead high level strategic planning that contributes to the long-term educational prospects of whānau, hapū and iwi.
The purpose of the Tāhuhu Whakaakoranga is to provide whānau, hapū, iwi and other organisations with graduates who are able to work collaboratively to manage and administer hapū and iwi short and long-term educational aspirations.
Graduates will be able work in high level leadership roles responsible for planning, organising and leading educational organisations in order to advance the long-term educational propsects of whānau, hapū and iwi.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
An undergraduate teaching degree or diploma; five or more years classroom teaching experience; a level of fluency in te reo Maaori as the course is total immersion. Evidence of support from a hapuu and iwi to be provided.
