About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

Graduates will build on the interdisciplinary approach to the study of sport and exercise to an advanced level. They will have advanced knowledge consequent to their major area of bachelors level study. They will show in-depth knowledge of varying points of view and research traditions in the field and can capably interrogate existing assumptions and practices from more than one academic standpoint. They will have a sophisticated grasp of the key underlying principles of the facets of sport and exercise and be able to implement and adapt these principles within a complex and rapidly-changing professional environment. They will be competent independent researchers who have demonstrated the ability to critically evaluate and employ research methodologies to an internationally recognised level. They will be creative in their approach to research design, discovery and problem-solving, with a developed ethos of cross-disciplinary and inter-sectoral collaboration as it applies within the sport and exercise field.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

For the 240 credit pathway a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise, or equivalent sport-related degree, with a minimum B average. For the 120 credit pathway by thesis a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise with Honours, or an equivalent sport-related degree, or a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise, with a minimum B average.
