Entry requirements

All applicants must have at least one of the following requirements: * Be registered teachers in New Zealand and have a current practicing certification. * Hold a current Limited Authority to Teach (LAT) documentation AND Be currently employed in a kura/ school in Aotearoa, New Zealand Domestic English Language Requirements If English or Te Reo Māori are the not the applicant's first language, candidates will need an IELTS (Academic) score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.0, or equivalent. International English Language Entry Requirements N/A

About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

This micro-credential aims to equip ākonga with the appropriate skills and knowledge to create
creative digital video content to communicate a story or equivalent on various media platforms. This
micro-credential is aimed at kaiako who are in kura or schools and would like to teach media to their
ākonga. It is specifically designed to address the shortage of qualified Māori and Pasifika kaiako
who can deliver this discipline to the growing population of rangatahi Māori and Pasifika across the
motu.
This micro-credential emphasises the practical application of videography techniques and utilises
design principles and theories to create media that resonates with their target audiences while
enhancing their ability to communicate ideas visually and creatively.
Ākonga will be exposed to both technical and artistic aspects of video production, ensuring content
that is visually appealing, strategically crafted, and optimised for engagement in various media
platforms.
