Entry requirements
Domestic Students:
1. Have a minimum of 10 Level 1 NCEA literacy credits (or equivalent)
2. Have access to work or volunteer in a setting with infants and toddlers (this includes but is not limited to: Nannying, ECE setting, home-based care setting, play group, being a parent of an infant or toddler).
Applicants will provide the type, name, location and contact details of their infant and toddler work or volunteer setting during the online application process. This will be verified by the SaAS team as part of the admissions process.
Offshore Students:
1. Offshore students have an English Language proficiency equivalent to an IELTS General or Academic score of 5 with no band score lower than 5.
2. Have access to work or volunteer in a setting with infants and toddlers (this includes but is not limited to: Nannying, ECE setting, home-based care setting, play group, being a parent of an infant or toddler).

What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this micro-credential is to contribute to the knowledge and provision of quality early childhood education (ECE) for infants and toddlers both in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally.
Graduates of this micro-credential will share their improved knowledge, skills and practice in their work with infants and toddlers. This will enhance the offerings in our ECE sector for whānau, tamariki and employers. Students will improve their culturally responsive practice through their engagement with content and assessments that explore both bicultural and multicultural perspectives as they apply to infant and toddler care and education.
