What can I expect out of this qualification?
This micro-credential is designed for individuals working in surface extraction environments who are responsible for interpreting geological and geotechnical conditions, and selecting appropriate extraction methods, plant, and equipment. Learners will build foundational knowledge of geological structures and hazards, evaluate ground stability conditions, and assess how geology and site features influence extraction planning and operational decision-making.
This micro-credential is for extractive industry employees, particularly those wishing to be appointed to a safety-critical role under the Health and Safety at Work (Mining Operations and Quarrying Operations) Regulations 2016. All learners must be in employment in the extractives industry.
