About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the international aviation industry with graduates who have sufficient operational and theoretical knowledge and the practical skills to operate small single or multi-engine aircraft as commercial pilots, independently or with another pilot.
This qualification is suitable for international students seeking to gain a commercial pilot licence in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Graduates will meet the eligibility requirements to operate as commercial pilots, under the appropriate Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAANZ) rules for General Aviation. Graduates are expected to operate as commercial pilots in their country of origin.
The optional strands build on the core requirements of a commercial pilot licence. They recognise specialist knowledge and skills required for specific roles and contexts, dependant on international market requirements.
