Entry requirements

Learners must have the physical capacity to kneel on the floor for administering CPR (unit standard 6402).

Providers must verify that international students enrolling in this micro-credential possess the necessary English language proficiency to study at Level 3. Rules are outlined in section 22 and 'Appendix: Internationally Recognised English Proficiency Outcomes for International Students' in the NZQA Programme Approval, Recognition, and Accreditation Rules 2022.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this micro-credential is to provide a formal credential that recognises the skills and knowledge required to effectively assess emergency first aid situations and provide basic life support to a person who is unresponsive and not breathing normally. Learners will apply a range of standard processes to manage first aid for injuries and medical conditions.
