Entry requirements

Pre-enrolment
- Providers should ensure applicants have skills and knowledge of the risk-based approach to TTM, or equivalent skills and knowledge, before entering this micro-credential.
- Providers must ensure that applicants are informed of the nature and responsibilities of the work of a TMP design role.
- Learners/ākonga should have access to a workplace for training and assessment. The provider may be able to assist with work placement for those not already employed.
- Learners/ākonga should have access to a workplace that can provide learning support and expertise in TMP design.

Accessibility
- Providers will ensure meaningful engagement with a variety of learners/ākonga and support organisations for any disability for learners/ākonga who can still meet the demands of a TMP Designer role.

Language proficiency
- Learners/ākonga require sufficient literacy for reading workplace documents and completing assessments.
- Learners/ākonga require communication skills, numeracy skills and physical abilities to meet the requirements of the relevant unit standards (current version of CMR 0101).
- Providers will support ākonga/learners during delivery to ensure they have the level of language proficiency or literacy required.

About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this micro-credential is to provide a formal credential for people working in the temporary traffic management (TTM) industry who develop traffic management plans (TMPs).

This micro-credential addresses an identified skill gap in TTM design for people who need to understand the importance of, and principles behind, robust risk assessment and management. It includes skills required to address the safety of relevant personnel who engage with TMPs, including road and roadside workers on a road or roadside TTM activity.
