Entry requirements
To qualify for entry, prospective students will require:
- Either a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent level qualification) OR
- Equivalent and relevant professional experience that demonstrates their ability to perform in the micro-credential and commit to achieving its outcomes.
- All entry applications are assessed by the Programme Director and a personal interview may be requested if necessary.
- International students need to have sufficient English language skills to complete this micro-credential. Academic IELTS 6.5 (minimum with no bands less than 6.0) - or
- A minimum TOEFL score of 100 with minimum sub-scores of 25, or equivalent qualification, if English is not the potential students' first language.

About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The aim and purpose of the micro-credential is to introduce students to the areas of Data Analytics and Artificial?Intelligence. Students will gain an understanding of basic knowledge representation, problem solving?techniques and explore data science processes, data ingestion, cleansing, and?transformation fundamentals that?turn data analytics into insights to drive decision?making. Students learn techniques and best practices in the analysis of data sets, which are useful for crucial?organisation?decisions, and will explore how data and tools can be used to solve complex, real world business problems through the application of machine?learning, algorithms, and other Artificial Intelligence techniques.

Students shall also investigate the?ethical and privacy issues related to machine learning and artificial intelligence. The target learner group is primarily focused on adult learners, employed in leadership or management roles in organisations undergoing digital transformation processes.

Mātauranga Māori is integral to the content, curriculum development and the pedagogical approach of the micro-credential. Students explore Mātauranga and Kaupapa Māori concepts, perspectives and ethics as an integral and essential part of the applying data analytics and artificial intelligence techniques and practices in Aotearoa New Zealand.
