Entry requirements
School students apply and are selected as to their aptitude (good work ethics and willingness to learn) to becoming an apprentice in the future. To apply, students provide their CV to the MAST Transition Advisor. The MAST Transition Advisor will conduct a 1 on 1 interview with the learner to determine their interest and suitability for the programme. During this, the programme is explained in detail to the learner, including what would be expected of them as well as gauging their interests and what sector in the marine industry they might be best suited towards. The Transition Advisor will then find an employer who is suited to the learner according to their interests for their work placement. This entry level micro credential will support and encourage school students to take up a marine apprenticeship. The student must be in school in years 11-13 and be at least 16 years old to be able to apply.
