What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is for people who wish to work with individuals, whānau, and the community to provide foundation level support and guidance in an entry level role as a Māori Warden at a variety of social proceedings and functions.
The purpose of this qualification is to:
- Provide graduates with a credential to recognise the achievement of a range of introductory knowledge, skills and processes in mātauranga Māori which are able to be applied, under close supervision, in contexts where physical support and guidance is being provided.
- Use standards of professional practice which provide clients with confidence in the service they
receive.
Graduates of this qualification will be able to apply knowledge of Māori philosophies and practices when providing support and guidance at proceedings and functions.
