About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the infrastructure industry with people who have the knowledge and skills that can be applied across a range of standard infrastructure worksite operations.

Graduates of this qualification will be able to work under limited supervision carrying out infrastructure worksite operations safely and with quality outcomes.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Eligible learners must be working in the infrastructure works industries and be one of the following: (i) a Domestic Student, or (ii) an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident currently residing in New Zealand, and (b) Maori and/ or Pasifika, and (c) aged between 16 and 40 years of age (inclusive) at the start date of the first module in the programme of study or training. Eligible learners must: * have access to appropriate supervisors/mentors at work for work experience and on job activities * Be physically fit * Have access to tools and equipment Please note: * All eligible candidates will be interviewed prior to enrolment to ensure the programme is suitable and meets the needs of the candidates. * All enrolled students are required to complete either a literacy or numeracy assessment at the commencement of the first module and prior to the completion of the last module within this programme. This is a diagnostic assessment to assist with monitoring a student's personal progress. It is not an entry criteria used for selection purposes. Academic achievement: Applicants should demonstrate an ability to succeed in tertiary study shown by the completion of any of the following qualifications or courses of study: * National Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Level 2) or * New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Level 2) or * NCEA Level 1 Literacy requirements Experience: Students who have attained the age of 20 years and do not hold the minimum entry requirements for a programme will be eligible to be enrolled as a student where their previous educational, work ork or life experience indicates they have a reasonable likelihood of success.
