Entry requirements

It is recommended that people achieve the New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply Introductory (Level 2) [Ref: 2136] or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience, before enrolling on programmes leading to this qualification.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the traction industry with people who have the skills and knowledge to work as Traction Line Mechanics.

Graduates of this qualification can work safely, under broad guidance, maintaining and constructing traction line networks to industry standards.

The qualification leads towards eligibility for registration by the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB).
