About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification provides the automotive engineering industry with highly skilled technicians who have attained the knowledge and skills required to safely and effectively diagnose and repair faults that are uncommon or complex in electric vehicle systems. Electric vehicles include battery electric or hybrid electric, vehicles or machines.
This qualification is designed for experienced automotive engineering technicians working, or intending to work in an advanced technical role within an electric vehicle automotive context.
Graduates may have some responsibility for leadership in the business and for the overall performance of the workshop. Graduates of this qualification will not be recognised as manufacturer-specific technicians.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Learners must be eligible to undertake industry training organised through MITO, and must be employed in an automotive workshop in a role which supports the learner to achieve the qualification outcomes. Entry is subject to the approval of MITO. This will be determined on the basis of discussion between MITO, the employer and the learner. Learners entering this programme must have completed an Automotive Engineering qualification at Level 4, or provide evidence of equivalent skills and knowledge
