About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide New Zealand with people who will work with both simple and complex scaffolding structures and are competent to operate as qualified scaffolding tradespeople.

Graduates will be able to work independently and plan the work and lead a team of scaffolders.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

To be eligible for entry, apprentices must be in employment and engaging with work related to the scope of the programme. The employer and apprentice, in conjunction with Vertical Horizonz New Zealand (VHNZ), must complete a training agreement. The apprentice must meet the eligibility requirements for a New Zealand Apprenticeship document by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC). Vertical Horizons New Zealand may enrol trainees working in New Zealand under work visas into this programme without being a signatory to The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021, until 31 December 2023.
