What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the Flight Training providers and Airline sectors of the aviation industry with graduates who have attained sufficient operational and theoretical knowledge and practical skills to operate as commercial pilots and/or associated support staff in flight planning and aircraft operations.
This qualification is suitable for people seeking to gain a private pilot licence, commercial pilot licence, and either a flight instructor rating or airline transport pilot licence.
The qualification has three elective strands for pilots to specialise in aeroplane flight instruction, aeroplane airline preparation, or helicopter flight instruction.
Graduates will meet the eligibility requirements to operate as commercial pilots under the appropriate New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) rules for flight instruction or air transport operations such as regional, domestic, charter, or international airlines.
