What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is intended for learners of English as an additional language who wish to apply their English proficiency to community and/or employment contexts.
Graduates will have the language skills required to communicate with increasing independence and fluency in community and/or employment contexts.

Minimum requirements
Applicants must possess: * IELTS 4.5 (minimum of 4.0 in all bands) or equivalent (NZQA reference: http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/about-us/our-role/legislation/nzqa-rules/nzqf-related-rules/the -table/); or * a passed NZQA-approved internal English Entry Test, either gained at EMS or elsewhere (http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/providers-partners/qa-system-for-teos/english-international-l earners/approval-of- english-assessments/); or * New Zealand Certificate in English Language (General) Level 3; or CEFR High B1 or * Equivalent qualifications / work experience, and evidence of English language skills (approved by EMS' Academic and Quality Manager and Director).
