What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the creative industries with individuals who have the skills and knowledge of DJ and music production to perform in community and professional contexts.

Graduates can apply their skills to contribute to cultural, social, and economic outcomes in Aotearoa New Zealand, and emerging trends in music production.

Minimum requirements

Application by Academic Qualification (under 20 years of age) Applicants should be 16 years of age, or older, have successfully completed NCEA Level 1 or equivalent, and have achieved a minimum standard of English as demonstrated by a minimum of 8 credits at NCEA Level 1 in English. Special Application (over 20 years of age). Consideration will be given to applicants aged 20 years or older who do not meet the entry criteria if they can demonstrate a history of work, industry experience which in the opinion of the Programme Managers exhibits a likelihood of success in the programme of study. All Applicants All applicants are required to attend an interview. Preference will be given to those with good passes at NCEA Level 2 or above and/or experience in DJ or music production. If available, providing examples of music production or DJ mixes is recommended.
