About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide New Zealand with people who have the specialist practical and professional knowledge and skills to assist with the property law related needs of clients and employers, underpinned by the requirements of the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006, and associated regulations and rules.

The qualification is for those interested in employment in property law and the transfer of property.

Graduates will work under supervision of a Conveyancing Practitioner.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Domestic students under 20 and all international students must have: * NCEA L2 with passes in English/Te Reo Maori or equivalent education achievement, and a minimum of 42 credits at level 3; or * Evidence of ability to complete academic requirements for the programme. Applicants for whom English is not their first language, evidence of language competency may be required. Detailed Requirements Domestic students under 20 and all international students must have: * NCEA Level 2 with passes in English/Te Reo Maori or education achievement at least equivalent to NCEA Level 2 and a minimum of 42 credits at level 3; or * Evidence of ability to complete academic requirements for the programme. For domestic and international applicants for whom English is not their first language, evidence of language competency may be required. Special admission: Applicants wishing to enroll into the Diploma of Conveyancing (Level 6) may be given special admission if they can provide evidence that they are capable of achieving the programme . International applicants for whom English is not their first language will be required to show evidence of language competency, issued within the last two years. The level of competency required is IELTS general or academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5 or completed NZ Certificate in English Language Level 4 with the Academic endorsement or meets a relevant English Proficiency Outcome as outlined in NZQF related Rules (Rule 18) - The Table.
