About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the airports sector of the aviation industry with individuals who have attained sufficient operational skills and knowledge to provide safe, secure, and customer-friendly airport facilities, for domestic and/or international travellers.
They will have broad organisational and service skills, combined with specialised aviation knowledge required for operating in the highly regulated, safety, security and service dominated aviation industry.
The qualification is stranded to enable people to specialise in airport customer service, airport maintenance, airport safety, or aviation security, while developing a broad knowledge of the full range of airport operations. The strands have some degree of commonality to meet the diverse needs of airports across New Zealand.
Graduates will be able to work under broad guidance, and graduates of the Airport Maintenance and Airport Safety strands will have some responsibility for the performance of others.
