The purpose of this qualification is to provide the pharmacy sector with people who carry out a range of pharmacy dispensing services, and support the provision of safe, patient-centred healthcare.

Minimum requirements
Academic requirements: Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Pharmacy (Introduction to Pharmacy Practice) (Level 3) [Ref: 1886] Or Equivalent skills and knowledge of working in a New Zealand pharmacy and Hold a secondary/tertiary qualification at NZQF Level 3 or equivalent. General Requirements: Have an acceptable New Zealand Police vet check prior to the beginning of practical experience. English Language: International students: General or Academic IELTS score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5, or equivalent Internationally Recognised English Proficiency test. Domestic students with ESOL: must be proficient in English language. Distance/Online Akonga: Already employed in a pharmacy for a minimum of 20 hours per week. Please note: The distance/online study option is not available to international students.
