What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the pharmacy sector with people that can work in a non-dispensing support role within a pharmacy and support the provision of safe, patient-centred healthcare under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
People entering programmes leading to the award of this qualification must be able to: * understand requirements and follow instructions * communicate clearly and effectively with others. Level 2 credits from the communication skills subfield or English subfield, or demonstration of comparable knowledge or skills, may be accepted as evidence of this. Applicants who have attained the age of 20 years and do not hold the minimum entry requirements will be eligible to be enrolled where their previous educational, work or life experience indicates they have a reasonable likelihood of success. Domestic Language Entry Requirements: If English or Maori is the not the applicant's first language, applicants will need an IELTS (Academic) score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent International English Language Entry Requirements: International applicants will need an IELTS (Academic) score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent. Other Entry Requirements: Within 6 months of commencing the programme, students must complete a basic first aid course and submit a copy of their first aid certificate to Open Polytechnic and currency must be maintained through the duration of their training programme. Students must be employed in a pharmacy while enrolled on this programme in order to complete the equivalent of 80 hours' work experience.
