What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is intended for learners of English as an additional language who can use English with some independence and wish to increase their English language proficiency for general communication.
Graduates will have the language skills required to communicate independently and with reasonable fluency and independence in most familiar situations.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Applicants must satisfy the following criteria: Be 16 years of age or older on the 1st of January in the year that the student enrols, unless approved otherwise by the Programme Leader; The student can reasonably expect to achieve the standards required for successful completion of the programme or course, AND one of the following: completed NZC in English Language (Level 2) OR provide an IELTS academic score of at least 4.5 with no band score lower than 4.0 OR an accepted international equivalence OR provide evidence of CEFR B1 level in the Vital placement test. Applicants using VITAL CERF B1 evidence will be required to take the NorthTec internal placement test.
