Entry requirements
For entry into the 1st year preference will be given to those entrants with 42 credits at NCEA Level 3, 14 credits in Level 1 Mathematics/Pangarau and 8 credits in Level 2 Reading/Writing or equivalent study/work experience, or Sixth Form Certificate with a grade aggregate of 20 or less in the four best subjects, one of which must be Grade 5 English or better, or a Year 12 or Year 13 international qualification equivalent to, or higher than, one of the above.
International applicants whose first language is not English require a minimum IELTS (Academic) overall band score of 5.0 or equivalent. They must also be able to demonstrate Level 3 computing competency or an appropriate higher secondary school qualification or equivalent as above, or suitable industry experience. Satisfactory performance in a pre-enrolment test may also be considered. Contact the Provider for more information.
To gain entry into the second year, the entrant will need to have completed the 1st year of this course, or NZQA approved Level 5 or higher Computing or equivalent qualification, or successful completion of an overseas non-computing degree or technical diploma, or a satisfactory performance in a TIA pre-enrolment test or suitable vendor specific industry recognised certifications or experience. International applicants whose first language is not English require a minimum IELTS (Academic) overall band score of 6.0 or equivalent. Contact the Provider for more information.
About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates will have in depth understanding of computer industry concepts, and knowledge of current computing technologies and trends. They will have a high level of skills in software development which will equip them for a range of Multimedia related roles within the computer industry.
Graduates may choose to progress to more advanced study at degree or postgraduate level.
